Parent Accounts: Changes to billing access

When a student invites a parent to link to their account, the administrative structure of the account shifts to ensure secure payment management.

What happens after a parent accepts the account invitation?

Once the invitation is accepted and the accounts are linked, the following changes take place:

  • Transfer of Billing Responsibility: The parent account becomes the primary manager for all financial aspects of the student’s subscription.

  • Student Access Restrictions: The student will immediately lose access to all billing information, including payment methods, transaction history, and invoice downloads.

  • Centralized Management: Only the parent will be able to update credit card details, change subscription plans, or view billing statements.

Why does this happen?

This transition is designed to protect sensitive financial data. By transferring these permissions, we ensure that only the person responsible for the payments (the parent) can view or modify billing details.

Tip for Students: Before inviting your parent, make sure to download any previous receipts or billing records you may need for your own personal files, as you will not be able to view them once the accounts are connected.
