Parent vs student accounts

New feature!

What is the difference between parent and student accounts?

Unlock the Power of Parent Mode: Support Their Success, Honor Their Independence

We are excited to introduce Parent Mode! This feature is designed to give you peace of mind while your student takes the lead on their test prep. As a parent, you can now easily keep an eye on their progress, check in on their current and goal scores, and stay updated on their overall study activity—all from your own independent account. Plus, since you handle the billing, you have full control over subscriptions and payment details in one convenient spot.

Beyond tracking overall progress, Parent Mode gives you access to a library of helpful resources to guide you in supporting your student's academic journey. Our goal is to give you the information you need while also encouraging your student to take full responsibility for and pride in their exam preparation.

Getting Started is Simple

During the checkout and registration process, you will be prompted to enter the email contact information for your student. Once the checkout process is complete, your student will receive an email invitation to complete the registration for their individual Acely account.

On your dashboard, you'll see a helpful list of milestones that we help students reach, from the creation of a study plan to their first completed task.

Once your student completes their first full-length practice test, we'll further update and customize their plan. If the projected scores fluctuate in the beginning, don't worry—it's all part of the learning process! We continuously make adaptive changes to their plan to help them reach their goals.

You can easily manage everything in your "Account" menu. You can set a password to make logging in faster, get a referral link to share with friends, and manage all of your family's students' subscriptions.

What if my student already has an account?

If your student already has an account, they can still add a parent within the account settings. There is an option to "invite parent" that will trigger an email to the parent to accept and create their own access. Please note that once the parent's invitation is accepted, the billing responsibility and management transfer to the parent. Please see "Parent Accounts: Changes to billing access" for more information.

Student Independence, Expert Features

Your student has full, independent access to the Acely study platform while you stay up to date. Every subscription gives them a Study Plan that is tailored to their needs, full-length practice tests, and a large Question Bank of practice questions. They will have everything they need to learn the SAT or ACT at their own pace, which will give them the confidence and independence they need to do well.
