Why do you require payment information for the free trial?

Why does free trial require credit card information

Acely requires a credit card before starting the 72-hour (3-day) free trial so that we can verify student and parent identities and prevent spam and/or duplicate sign-ups.

This also ensures a seamless transition to a paid subscription if the trial is not canceled before it ends.

At the end of the 3-day trial, the full subscription amount for the selected plan is charged to the payment method provided during signup.

If the trial is canceled before the end of the 3-day period, the account will revert to a free tier with limited features. Users who do not cancel will automatically transition to the paid subscription, gaining access to all premium features.

If there are insufficient funds on the payment method at the end of the trial period, Acely will retry the payment once. If the second attempt also fails, the account will be closed.
